Wulanchabu (Ulanqab), a city under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the north of China and the central part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The geographical coordinates are 39 degrees 37 '- 43 degrees 28' north latitude, 109 degrees 16 '- 114 degrees 49' east longitude, 458 kilometers east and West, 442 kilometers wide north and south, and a total area of 54500 square kilometers. The eastern part of  is bordered by Hebei Province, the northeast is adjacent to Xilinguole Meng, the south is connected with Shanxi Province, the southwest is adjacent to the capital Hohhot, the northwest is connected with Baotou, the north is at the junction with Mongolia, and the border line is more than 100 kilometers long. Wulanchabu is a Mongolian language, translated as "red pass". Wulanchabu is situated in an advantageous position. In the 12 cities under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Wulanchabu is the closest city to Beijing, the "bridgehead" of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region's eastward and westward advance. The intersection of the North opening south alliance is the hub of transportation to the three major economic circles of northeast, North China and Northwest China, and is also an important international gateway to China's Mongolia, Russia and Eastern Europe. In 2016 09, Wulanchabu was selected as one of the top 100 people's livelihood development in China's prefecture level cities. In 2017 06, Wulanchabu was named the national health city by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
